Light Up The Lake is not to be missed – be amazed by headliners Kingswood, Caravana Sun and Hot Potato Band, and some great local talent including Kris Morris Duo and Sunday Avenue. Fun activities will add to the sense of celebration in the air. Tuggerah Lakes will come alive this year with four floating and illuminated inflatables celebrating our regions Indigenous community. Finish the night watching the fireworks display that will literally Light Up The Lake!

This year’s Folklore installation will be showcasing and celebrating site-specific elements from the perspective of our local Indigenous young people who participated in Central Coast Council’s Maliga program. Maliga is an Indigenous arts and culture showcase which provides a visual storytelling platform for Indigenous children and young people to share stories regarding connection to country and cultural identity. This year, Maliga delivered an artist in residency facilitated by Indigenous artist, Jason Coulthard. The residency engaged with six local schools across the region and created a series of designs referencing local flora and fauna. These designs will be presented during Light up the Lake on Tuggerah Lakes, Memorial Park, The Entrance on four floating and illuminated inflatables. The inflatables will become one of the centrepieces of the event, celebrating our Indigenous community by showcasing contemporary and site-specific designs reflecting traditional motifs and stories connected to the region.
